Got Game?

Sorry - This video has been removed for reaching OVER 100 VIEWS

Here's something you can do with your kids when Putt Putt becomes passé (right before it's cool again)! Spring is a great time to try golf, you don't have to buy anything either! Try a public course like Woodley Lakes. You'll be able to rent clubs (approximately $2 a piece), you can start on the driving range with a bucket of balls (another couple of bucks) or head to the putting green, which is free.

Golf is a game of skill, sportsmanship and manners, so you just might love the side effects, too - you know - like . . . patience, grace under pressure, enjoying the journey rather than focusing on smashing your opponent! (Golf in the Kingdom is a great read on the subject, by the way.) If you enjoy being out there in the fresh air with your family, a few instructional lessons will go a long way toward making the whole experience even more fun.

Enjoy!

Starry, Starry Night

Join us for a visit to the Los Anegeles landmark, Griffith Observatory. The parking lot in front of the Observatory is SMALL, so wear comfy shoes for the steep walk to and from your car! Parking and entrance to the Observatory are both free, but don't leave your wallet at home because you'll want to grab a bite at the cafe downstairs, snap up souvenirs at the gift shop or catch one of the shows in the Planetarium (fees range from $3 - $7).

Take a peek at the sky from the large telescope (entrance on the easterly side of the roof) and gaze at the stars above and below in the dazzling glow of a Hollywood night - while you wait for your turn. There's usually a line, but the view makes the time fly!

Thanks for watching. You can find more info at: www.GriffithObservatory.org

Cupid's Quiver, Or Archery In Encino?

Okay, I'm trusting you! Don't tell everybody about this. On Wednesdays, at 6 pm, in Woodley Park, down a long dark drive past the Japanese Garden, there is a spot of light. Get there early to get your equipment and take a FREE beginning archery lesson. I'm not kidding, it's free, it's fun and the whole family can participate. Well, not infants or toddlers, but the rest of the crew for sure. Recommended for kids from about age 9.

See you on the range. Shhhhhhhhh. EncinoMom : )
